About Acne Scarring
Acne can lead to acne scarring. Acne scarring can be atrophic (depressed) with pitting and uneven texture. It can also be hypertrophic with raised, thickened scars. There can also be post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation with redness and/or darkening discoloration.
Treating Acne Scarring | My Approach:
My holistic approach to healing acne scarring involves first healing acne and preventing new lesions from occurring. Then incorporating topical products that over time regenerate the skin. I also do micro-needling with platelet-rich-plasma which works wonderfully for acne scarring by stimulating new collagen production, evening out skin texture, and evening out skin discoloration. I use the Skin Pen medical device.
