About Perioral Dermatitis

Perioral dermatitis is a skin condition that causes a rash, typically around the mouth, but can also affect the nose and eyes. It's characterized by small, red, inflamed bumps (papules) that may be scaly and sometimes have pus-filled blisters. While often mistaken for acne, perioral dermatitis is different than acne.

My holistic approach to perioral dermatitis involves supporting the immune system and balancing the body’s microbiome through diet, herbs, nutritional supplements, lifestyle modifications, and medications.  Laboratory testing when necessary to address nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, food sensitivities and allergies. Also supporting the skin barrier both internally and externally.
